Ms. Lara Hansen
This is sure to be a memorable year. Some areas of study we will be covering this year include: reading a variety of genres and delving in deep to extend and expand our knowledge and comprehension of literature; writing opinions, narratives, and expository essays; working with fractions, decimals, measurement, and geometry; studying explorers and colonists; making parachutes and other scientific projects; and working within a Google Classroom.
On a number of occasions I have been asked this question: Why did you decide to become a teacher? The answers begin accruing in my mind immediately. It’s a rewarding career. It’s for the kids. I want to make an impact. The summers! Don’t be mistaken, all of these reasons rightfully answer the question above, but the bottom line is, it’s who I am. And, it’s what I love to do.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master of Arts degree in Teaching. And at the time of this penning, I have 17 years of teaching experience under my belt. I have taught in Arcadia, CA and Tempe, AZ. This year I have been given the opportunity to teach in the community in which I not only live, but in which I regard as one of the best.
My family and faith take the cake on the joyful meter, but a close behind would be mint brownies, anything gingham, and a clean house!
